My Wife and I wanted a fairly simple GPS product without spending a fortune. The Garmin nuvi 255 is a nice size when compared to some of the other units available and the great display is very bright and clear and exceptionally easy to see in daylight. It took five minutes to fix on to its current position when turned on for the first time. On screen menus are easy to follow, the directions are very comprehensive, and the instructions are extremely easy to read.
I took the Garmin nuvi 255 with me to Seattle and it got me to the exact address without getting lost. Displayed directions are clear and the screen display is quite straight forward. Putting the address in is very easy, route calculation is nicely fast. My only issue with the screen is that the car GPS navigation system is a bit too bright at night and the brightness is set to night-time.
POI was awfully useful. POI’s can be searched by Name, Category and then look locally, in a different place or near a different location. I personally like the breakdown of POI Categories, extremely user-friendly.
By and large, I am amazingly happy with the Garmin nuvi 255 and would absolutely recommend it to friends and family.
