The Magellan Maestro 4040 is awfully straightforward and clever to use to plan a route. The main screen is straightforward enough and the display is not puzzling at all, offering you uncomplicated access to view the map and select the functions you need.
Directions given by the Magellan Maestro 4040 appear to be amazingly accurate. The GPS product talks to you with voice instructions in the shape of "Turn right in 2 miles onto Fifth Avenue" at ranges of 2 miles, 0.5 miles, and right before a turn, giving you plenty of warning prior to the next turn. If you have a road instantly following another one, the Magellan Maestro 4040 will also add "Turn right onto Second Avenue, followed by a left turn." The car GPS navigation system is amazingly good with freeways, providing you plenty of notice where on the freeway you should be on just before a split in the freeway or an exit. You will find that you are rarely having to look at the route display because the voice instructions are so exact. Route wise this car GPS navigation system always directs me to my destination awfully well.
